Sedation Dentistry
Gentle sedation options to help anxious patients feel calm and at ease.
Comfort & Sedation
We understand that dental treatment can feel stressful for some patients. Sedation dentistry is one way we help make care more comfortable, so you can get the treatment you need with greater ease.
Who may benefit
- Patients who feel fear or anxiety about dental visits
- Those who find it difficult to stay comfortable during longer appointments
- Anyone who feels apprehensive about a particular procedure
Oral sedation
Oral sedation uses prescribed medication to help reduce anxiety before or during treatment. Depending on the medication and dosage, you may feel relaxed or drowsy while remaining responsive and breathing independently.
If oral sedation is selected, you will need a responsible adult to accompany you, drive you home, and remain available afterward. Follow all instructions regarding eating, drinking, medications, transportation, and activities after treatment.
Inhaled sedation
Nitrous oxide is delivered with oxygen through a small mask placed over the nose. Patients generally remain awake and able to communicate, and its effects usually wear off quickly after administration ends. Your dentist will confirm when you are ready to leave and provide any necessary aftercare instructions.

Your safety comes first
Sedation isn't right for everyone or every situation. Before recommending an option, your dentist will review your medical history, medications, treatment needs, and any transportation requirements to help determine what is appropriate for you.
